RICHMOND TIGERS – Another year a new coach, yet another road map..?
How many times in the last 28 years or so have we heard the phrase “we have a process”, or “we have road map of where we want to go”.
As a Richmond supporter can we really have any optimism, we have heard this shit before. In my mind we have never replaced the likes of Knighta, Brodders, Lambert, Freezer, Bennie Gale, Justin “I like me drugs” Charles little lone the greats of yester year. And I don’t see any of the “established” squad ever raising to the challenge.
People will say come on its only one game of the NAB cup. No its 28 years and counting. There seems to be an entrenched culture of failure. We almost had something happen in the mid 90′s thanks to Mr Northey, but thanks to Mal “moron” Brown Northey went North. We have more holes in our foot than a colander in a chinese restraunt.
I’m hearing ya, but in those 28 years we haven’t always been down the bottom, we have finished 9th umpteen times, and played in a grand final in 82, finals in 95 and again in 01, where we were one game out of the GF, beaten by a great side in the Lions.
But having said all that, I agree with you, we’ve been pretty ordinary and let our supporters down too often. Having watched Saturday nights debacle, we’re in for more of the same, because blokes can’t hit a target, forget all these game plans and crap they rave on about, it won’t matter if we have the best game plans of all time, if we have blokes who can’t hit a target, it won’t matter.
I want to see some improvement, that shows some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.
