Six Things often overlooked when purchasing new commercial cooking equipment
So you have to buy new kitchen equipment for restaurant or shopping center food service. Do you know what type of gas used in your kitchen? Do you know how much space you have available? Do you know what kind of campaign the team needs? There are many details that are often overlooked in the purchase of new commercial kitchen equipment can cost you time and money to solve! Here are the most common detail passes high you should consider before buying.
Gas Type / Power Requirements
It is important that you know exactly what the gas / energy consumption is when the purchase of commercial kitchen equipment. There are various internal components of kitchen equipment for LP (propane) gas and natural. Most manufacturers offer conversion kits for kitchen equipment so they can work for either type of gas requirements, however, they can to be expensive. Therefore, it is beneficial to ensure that you are asking a piece of kitchen equipment and settings for the type of gas installation has. Also to ensure that you specify the correct type of gas, it is important to specify whether the food service center is at a level higher than the elevation of 2,000 feet. Team found above 2,000 feet can be different and therefore require different components.
Some teams may have components of gas and electricity, or Fully electric. It is important to consult an electrician for the purchase of a new commercial kitchen appliance to make sure you have the correct voltage, amperage, and phase. Make modifications to your electrical panel to accommodate an incompatibility piece of kitchen equipment can be very expensive!
Bells / Systems Fire Suppression
Almost all commercial kitchen appliances have to be covered by a Type I (Grease Laden) or Type II (non fat Laden) hoods. All commercial cooking equipment to be under a Type I hood must also be covered by a fire extinguishing system. It is important refer to the company that installed and / or inspects fire-extinguishing system on the equipment you would like to add to your food service center to ensure you have enough space and the fire bell right.
Space
Separation should not be left guess the time to plan the work of new kitchen equipment. You should measure the space you have and compare it with the dimensions of the equipment before buying. Fire suppression company must also be able to tell if the local or state code requires a computer at a distance from other teams. Some things to consider would be to save space to purchase the equipment with multiple functions so you can remove several pieces of equipment (ie a 6-burner range with 24 "plate standard burners and two ovens actions instead of pot, oven and an iron bar). Also consider equipment manufacturers form, as Blodgett, offering combinations of equipment stacked. Most teams enter with or have the option of wheels instead of legs regularly. This could be very beneficial in ensuring that its staff can clean under, around and behind equipment.
Plumbing
Commercial kitchen equipment, like pots and pans stew may have taps which require a connection pipe but it is not necessary to use the equipment. However, there are some pieces of equipment such as broilers vapors that require running a water line on the computer will not work. Most of these pieces of commercial cooking equipment requires a water filtration system, which can be expensive. To avoid this, you should consider the lesser of broilers, steamers, which manually fill the machine with water.
Menu and Volume
The most obvious factors to consider is your menu and number of people who eat a meal. A small store does not require the same type or amount hospital equipment! It is important that if you are the person in charge of buying the equipment to see your chef! The food service staff should be able to provide to encourage what is required to produce products for the menu efficiently.
Reception
Finally, I understand that the majority of commercial kitchen equipment is very large. It is important that you are sure that you are able to receive the equipment. You have to have a cat or a pallet truck available to move equipment into place. You want to ensure that the equipment will pass through the doors and walking paths as well.
Commercial cooking equipment is a major purchase for your restaurant or food service center, so I want to make sure you are getting exactly what you need. A good rule to follow when buying commercial cooking equipment, when in doubt, call customer service!
