Know About the Excellent Kitchen Work Triangle
One has to think a lot before deciding the actual layout for their kitchens. You should always choose an appropriate design which provides you maximum work space, optimum storage area and suitable cleaning unit. Your kitchen design depends a lot upon the shape and size of your kitchenette. The concept of a kitchen work triangle is not new and it tells us about the placement of essential elements in our kitchen. The three main areas of the kitchen include the cold storage area, the sink area and the cooking area.
A good lay out helps in limiting household traffic and provides you efficient work space where you can properly complete all your work. So, now let me tell you about some great tips that can really help design an efficient kitchenette.
1. Kitchen Work Triangle
We have mainly three workstations in our kitchenette which includes the cleaning area (the sink), the cold storage unit (refrigerator) and the cooking area (the stove). If these three elements are arranged properly then they create a good kitchen triangle which is very essential for proper work space and efficiency. There are various designs for the work triangle which you can choose according to the shape and size of your work area.
2. Calculate the dimensions of your place
Before deciding the design for your work triangle it is very essential for you to calculate the dimensions of your place. The total counter space should not be less than 12 feet and more than 27 feet. Each side of the triangle should not be less than four feet and not more than nine feet. The isles of your kitchenette should be around 48 inches wide to allow the people to move around.
3. Choose a galley layout
If you have a large kitchen then you have a large variety of options to choose from. A galley kitchen layout would be very good for you because it provides a good work area. All your kitchen cabinets, equipments and appliances can be placed on the opposite wall in this kitchen layout. You can place your stove on one side and the refrigerator and the sink on the adjacent wall.
4. Create an efficient design
L-Shaped kitchen design is greatly in demand these days because they provide you excellent work space and can easily accommodate two people at the same time. This layout provides flexibility in arrangement and also prevents household traffic.
A good layout can really make your kitchen impressive and elegant.
